Another family loss

Yesterday one of our cousin's died. Maxine was the wife of my father-in-law's first cousin Jerry. Jerry and Bill were much more like brothers than cousins. Jerry's mother died shortly after Jerry was born, and Bill's mom took care of him. To see pictures of Bill and Jerry in their youth, it is nearly impossible to tell them apart. So, earlier this year Jerry lost his "brother."

Maxine was diagnosed with cancer not long after Bill. She went through chemo treatments, but her body was just too weak to survive this beast called cancer. She was in hospice care for a very short time before passing away.

About 7 or 8 years ago Jerry & Maxine's son Milton died of cancer. He was in his early 40's, about the age I am now. He lived with cancer for a few years and would appear to be getting well, go into remission, then get hit again.

This family has seen more than their share of cancer. Jerry's other son, Mike, along with his wife and daughter, and Milton's wife and children (grown now) are the surviving family members. It's a very difficult time & we ask for your prayers for the West family. Thank you.
